Gareth McShea
Civil Team Manager and Principal Civil Engineer
Gareth leads Hullcon's civil team and runs point on stormwater drainage, hydrology and water sensitive urban design. Fourteen years across major transport, water and renewable energy projects have taught him that drainage rarely fails on a hydraulic calculation. It fails on the interface, the program assumption or the constructability call that didn't get made early enough.
His track record reflects that. On the Burke to Tram Alliance he led a team of twelve engineers delivering drainage across the east zone. On Inland Rail's Euroa packages he ran pump stations, attenuation and WSUD, with a detention strategy that handled flat country and downstream flood risk together. The common thread is drainage that integrates with structures, pavement and architecture rather than fighting them.
Gareth is a Chartered Professional Engineer registered in Victoria and Queensland, with honours in civil and environmental engineering. He has the technical depth to back a position in a design review and the program discipline to land it on a contractor's schedule.
